Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 6-month assignment with potential to extend
Schedule: 9/80 Hybrid – Onsite Monday & Tuesday, every other Friday off
Hours: As early as 7:00 AM – 4:45 PM
Pay Rate: $35.00–$38.00/hour
Position Overview
A large public agency serving Southern California is seeking an Administrative Assistant I to support its Safety, Security & Protection operations. This is an entry-level administrative role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting multiple priorities and time-sensitive assignments.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable handling administrative, purchasing, reporting, and data-tracking responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare letters, reports, spreadsheets, and other business documents.

Process requisitions, releases for payment, reimbursements, and purchasing requests.

Compile information and prepare routine reports using established templates and deadlines.

Maintain tracking sheets, databases, files, and departmental records.

Perform corporate credit card purchases and reconciliations.

Order and maintain office supplies.

Assemble reports and documents for distribution or mailing.

Respond to routine inquiries and provide information regarding departmental processes.

Assist with employee timekeeping and verify entries as needed.

Support multiple administrative and time-sensitive assignments.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:

High school diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant experience

Associate’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Preferred Skills & Experience:

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Experience with Oracle or another procurement/purchasing system preferred.

Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and work effectively under pressure.

Flexible, personable, and collaborative team player.

Must be based in Southern California and able to meet the hybrid onsite schedule.
