3-month W-2 contract assignment (potential to extend)
Pay: $53-55/ HR
Our client, a prominent global computer technology company recognized for its SSDs, USB flash drives, and memory card products, is looking for an Accountant III to join their team.
This position will be involved in the month end close process, including preparation and review of various financial reports, reconciliations and assist in ad hoc accounting projects as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and account analysis for certain US general ledger accounts, such as prepaid expenses, cloud computing arrangements, restructuring, goodwill, and intangible assets .
- Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis and ensure outstanding reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis
- Prepare the monthly Balance Sheet fluctuation analysis
- Prepare monthly reporting schedules to management, providing commentary and noting fluctuation changes from prior periods
- Support cross-functional teams with journal entry posting and account analysis
Oversee global account reconciliation process and conduct periodic quality reviews of account reconciliations - Conduct periodic global accounting team trainings around best practices for reconciliations and other key accounting topics
- Design, implement, and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
- Identify automation opportunities while proactively engaging and collaborating with accounting transformation team members to build various scalable and transformational processes as well as to support new business initiatives
- Assist in audit activities with internal and external auditors
Education & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of demonstrated success in accounting roles of increasing responsibility, preferably a mix of both public accounting and corporate accounting roles within a publicly traded company
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC Regulations and understanding of SOX 404(b) compliance
- Experience working with global financial systems, preferably Oracle and SAP
