Salary: $132,000-$137,000 / year
Our client, a leading private university in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Sr. Cerner Application Developer to join their Medical Enterprise team. This individual will be responsible for the leadership and management efforts involved in resolution of complex interrelated departmental applications and reporting issues associated with Cerner CCL customization and Reporting.
Accountabilities:
Reports & Analytics:
- Generate standard and custom/ad hoc reports.
- Design and assist in creating non-standard/custom reports as needed.
- Create and manage CCL reports and operations jobs; monitor report delivery.
Technical Skills & Industry Knowledge:
- Work independently on complex projects and operational tasks.
- Understand application builds, designs, and technical infrastructure.
- Stay current with industry best practices, conventions, and emerging technologies.
- Knowledgeable in Cerner data models, CCL, Discern/PowerInsight, custom mPages, XR templates, DA2, and PowerInsight security.
Solution Design & Development:
- Analyze documentation and requirements to design solutions.
- Formulate project scope and objectives.
- Use critical thinking to recommend and propose solutions.
Customer Service:
- Handle customer questions, complaints, and service tickets efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with internal users, vendors, and IS peers.
Performance Improvement/Innovation:
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Identify and pursue business transformation opportunities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Cerner reporting and CCL logic.
Training:
- Train new staff members on systems and applications.
- Work with customers and vendors to provide training on new systems.
Other Duties & On-Call:
- Fulfill on-call requirements and other assigned duties.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of relevant experience if no bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IS healthcare setting.
- Must be a U.S Citizen
Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience with Cerner, specifically 1 year of relevant Cerner Data Modeling experience.
- Proficiency in CCL (Cerner Command Language); familiarity with Discern/PowerInsight is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of Cerner data models, report writing, and customization requests, including working knowledge of mPages, XR templates, and CCL customization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in creating and managing CCL reports, setting up operational jobs, and integrating data into enterprise analytics platforms.
