Location: Milpitas, CA (Hybrid)
7 month assignment (great potential to extend or convert)
Pay Rate: $43/hr.
 
On behalf of our client a Fortune 500 company, we are seeking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist.  The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing procurement processes to ensure the highest value benefit for the company.

Duties:

  • Conducting Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and leading cross-functional teams through supplier selection, utilizing effective scoring criteria and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborating with IT and Legal stakeholders to assess business needs and optimize value within our supply base.
  • Analyzing spend, contracts, and proposals for software licensing, hardware, servers, data center, and telecom services, and presenting recommendations to Procurement and IT leadership.
  • Leading negotiations on commercial procurement agreements, including Master Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and Change Orders (COs), ensuring a balance of business deliverables, legal interests, and pricing.
  • Conducting total cost analysis, assisting with ROI analysis, price benchmarking, and negotiating favorable business terms.
  • Cultivating and enhancing cross-functional stakeholder relationships and serving as the subject matter expert for procurement.
  • Evaluating processes and recommending improvements to standardize contract and sourcing processes and systems.
  • Ensuring negotiated pricing and deliverables are accurately reflected in contracts and coordinating the comparison of proposals and final contract terms.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience in indirect strategic sourcing, preferably with a multinational organization emphasizing software and hardware procurement. MBA or BS preferred.
  • Strong skills in contract negotiation, vendor management, and influencing.
  • Experience and expertise in sourcing.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating technology contracts, understanding cost models and various price structures, and managing contractual and legal risks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
