Contracting Agent
Location: Los Angeles, CA
12-month assignment (potential to extend)
Pay Rate: $55-$65/hour
 
The Contracting Agent is responsible for managing the entire purchasing process for moderate to higher value and risk materials and services. This role involves assisting clients with developing requirements, writing and managing solicitation documents, evaluating proposals, recommending contract awards, and negotiating purchase agreements. The associate will work closely with internal departments such as Legal, Accounts Payable, and Risk Management to ensure seamless operations and maintain detailed procurement records.
 
Duties:

• Manage purchasing processes for moderate to higher value/risk materials and services.
• Assist clients in developing requirements, specifications, and scope of work documentation.
• Write and manage solicitation documents, coordinate proposal evaluations, and recommend contract awards.
• Negotiate contracts and evaluate supplier qualifications; identify and secure alternative suppliers.
• Collaborate with Legal, Accounts Payable, and Risk Management for smooth procurement operations.
• Develop and manage supplier alliances, resolving conflicts and enhancing supplier relationships.
• Document the entire purchasing process and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Lead cost-saving initiatives and special projects to drive value through Supply Management.

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of supply management experience, with expertise in purchasing materials and services.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar professional certification is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex procurement processes, drive cost savings, and uphold ethical standards.
