Departmental Applications Analyst

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid / Remote Opportunity – Local Candidates ONLY!)

Salary Range: $150,000 + /year or DOE

 

Our private university client is looking for a Departmental Application Analyst to address day-to-day activities and resolve interconnected issues within departmental applications and reporting tools used at their healthcare facilities. This role will encompass strategic responsibilities that demand analytical skills for troubleshooting end-user application issues and supporting enterprise reporting requirements.

 

Duties:

  • Play a pivotal role in managing applications, resolving issues, and contributing to major system installations
  • Provide training to application users
  • Collaborate with external vendors, system owners, community partners, contractors, and Health Science Campus leadership to design, develop, implement, and operationalize departmental applications and reporting
  • Identify and document information technology design specifications based on an analysis of user needs, along with generating need-gap analyses
  • Create and develop system scope and objectives, assess existing or proposed systems, and device or adapt procedures to address problems through data processing

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-9+ years of experience if no Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in an IS Healthcare setting
  • Experience with using Fast Healthcare Inoperability Resources (FHIR) APIs to create Cerner Apps and to create custom integration with other systems
  • Experience working with cloud providers like AWS/Azure/GCP and web development including HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks like React/Vue/Svelte to integrate with other systems
  • Experience working with Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model (OMOP CDM) and a knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with at least one of the programming languages: Python, PHP
