Location: Rochester, MN (On-Site)
9 Month Assignment (Potential to extend or convert)
Pay Rate: $28.47/hr.
On behalf of our client, a Fortune 500 software company, we are seeking an Engineering Technician to support the day to day operations of the Test Lab.
Duties:
- Perform tasks such as loading/unloading drives, initiating tests, and maintaining lab cleanliness.
- Collaborate with other teams to support FPE Rochester operations.
- Ensure operational readiness of the Reliability Test Lab, including independent work on equipment debug, repair, and maintenance.
- Manage lab equipment calibration, inventory, and purchasing activities.
- Ability to work independently on graveyard shifts for debugging with international engineering teams.
- Install 16×20 mm BGA components into sockets and adapter boards.
- Conduct daily operational checks on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment faults, coordinating with external repair services.
- Install and validate equipment upgrades.
- Manage equipment calibration schedules and perform internal calibrations.
- Maintain records related to equipment calibration, repairs, inventory, and ordering.
- Monitor and refresh spare and working parts inventory.
- Communicate regularly with the department team regarding equipment status and deadlines.
- Participate in internal department meetings to provide updates and contribute to discussions.
Education:
- Associate's degree in a technical field preferred, and 3+ years of experience in an Engineering or Reliability test environment.
- Basic PC proficiency (Windows/Mac, Office Suite, email clients).
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Knowledgeable in hardware setup, debug, and fault tracing.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of PCIe/NVMe standards.
- Experience in lab operations including equipment calibration and inventory management.
- Previous experience with SSD devices and lab-related procurement.
