Pay Rate: $34–$37.75/HR

Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary:
On behalf of our client, a leading private university in Los Angeles, we are seeking a detail-oriented IT Financial Analyst I to join our team under the direction of the Senior Finance Manager. You will assist with operational budgeting and financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor initiative spending, and predict cash flow trends. Additionally, this role will support the Information Systems (IS) department with budget preparation and progress reporting, ensuring financial efficiency.
The ideal candidate will be adept at handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively with department Administrators, Directors, and Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret financial data, providing insights on budget variances and performance.
  • Assist with financial analysis for Monthly Financial Reports and Ad Hoc Reporting.
  • Support the preparation of the annual IS Budget.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial reporting, including charts, graphs, pivots, and V-lookups.
  • Manage requisitions for contracts (especially maintenance-related) and ensure accurate invoice processing.
  • Develop financial forecasts, Year-Over-Year (YoY) analysis, and simple financial models.
  • Assess the financial implications of Contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), Quotes, and Change Orders.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements, ensuring confidentiality in handling sensitive financial and staffing information.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff and other department personnel.
  • Assist with various financial tasks, duties, and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1–3 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience (must be able to analyze and explain financial data).
    • Experience in a healthcare or similar environment.
    • Basic IT knowledge.
    • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (charts, graphs, pivots, v-lookups).
