Billing Specialist
Location: Alhambra, CA
3-6 month assignment (potential to extend)
Pay Rate: $25-30/hour
Our private university client is looking for a Billing Specialist to maintain current understanding of billing and coding guidelines that affect the Medical Enterprise practices to ensure claims are consistently billed properly.
Duties:
- Responsible for reviewing and resolving claim edits in the billing scrubber for all government and non-government payers
- Bill claims writhing 48-72 hours of creation date
- Responsible for coordinating rebill requests from the internal compliance department, collections team, audit team, customer service, HIM, and vendors among other areas
- May serve as a liaison between Revenue Cycle areas and the billing agency to resolve problematic claim edits
- Conducts all duties in a professional and timely manner
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree preferred, high school diploma required
- Working knowledge of a UB04 claim form
- 2+ years of billing experience
- Knowledge of coding is a huge plus
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
