IDD Packaging Technician

Packaging Technician (Medical Device)
Location: Northridge, CA (On-Site)
12 Month Assignment (Great potential to convert)
Pay Rate: $24-$26/hr. DOE
M-F Schedules, Weekends OT


On behalf of our client a Global Medical Device company we are seeking for a Packaging Technicians. The Packaging Technician sets up, operates, and troubleshoots equipment, serving as a line leader. They are responsible for production, safety, quality control, and escalating issues to the maintenance department supervisor and quality team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Efficiently manage serialization processes.
  • Clean, maintain, set up, and adjust packaging machinery following Safety SOPs, GMPs, and Packaging Standards.
  • Adjust packaging equipment as needed to ensure product quality meets standards.
  • Record production information accurately in accordance with SOPs and GMPs.
  • Verify material counts delivered to production lines and prepare returns and transfers as necessary.
  • Monitor line operations, occasionally overseeing multiple lines simultaneously.
  • Consistently perform department operations at standard cost and quality levels, acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for training.
  • Operate manual and powered pallet jacks; must be licensed to operate forklifts.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback, contributing to team performance evaluations.
  • Practice and promote safe operational practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment as per SOPs and GMPs.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have a High School degree or associate's degree is preferred.
  • Attention to detail is crucial and great understanding of GMP.
  • Ability to lift 25-65 lbs. occasionally.
  • Mechanical aptitude to ensure proper assembly and operation of packaging equipment.
  • Must Have flexibility to temporarily change shifts, work overtime, or assist in other departments as required.
  • Effective time management and resource utilization skills.
  • Must be open to wearing a respirator.
