The Senior Labor & Employee Relations Representative must have the ability to objectively assess, guide and solve all people related situations and effectively communicate with all levels of employees. In addition, this position serves as the escalation point for all HR related issues and will work with the HR Centers of Excellence to expeditiously resolve the issues. This position will provide advice and counsel to department management, in various arenas, including employee performance issues, employee misconduct and the issuance of corrective action. This position will guide, train, coach and support a variety of diverse customers including directors, managers and front line staff.
Must Have:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Human Resource Management, or Business-related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
Must Haves:
• 5 years’ experience in Employee and/or Labor Relations required.
• Prior experience in a health care industry is a MUST ****
• Proficient verbal/written communication skills.
• Skill in writing concise, clear, relevant, and persuasive documents, including correspondence, case analyses, investigative reports, settlement agreements.
• Proficient in MS Office and applicable computer applications.
• Strong organizational, analytical/critical thinking, presentation, and creative skills.
• Experience with unions and conducting employee investigations required.
• Knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA/CFRA, Reasonable Accommodation, VAWA/CANRA, HIPAA, HEERA, FLSA/wage-hour laws, contract interpretation, EEOC/DFEH/DOJ requirements.
• Experience in conducting investigations of harassment allegations, including sexual harassment, hostile work environment
