Salary Range: $170,000 – $180,000 (Exempt)

About the Role:
Our client, a leading private university in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager (PfM) to oversee sub-portfolios and their respective ITEC subcommittees. This position ensures effective governance and execution of programs and projects that drive operational excellence and business growth. The Portfolio Manager will lead, mentor, and supervise project resources (employees and contingent workers) assigned to their portfolio while ensuring project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight for projects and programs within assigned sub-portfolios.
- Serve as an advisor and escalation point for program and project managers.
- Ensure timely project execution while maintaining compliance with governance, scope, budget, and deadlines.
- Report project health, risks, and remediation plans to the PMO Director.
- Develop project charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, and organization charts.
- Lead meetings, track progress, enforce quality management, and address project dependencies.
- Manage financials, including funding requests, forecasting, and spend management.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and mentoring of project management professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices within the PMO.
- Maintain and update project documentation, reports, and dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field (Required).
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field (Required).
- Experience:
- 10 years of professional experience.
- 6 years of project management experience leading IT projects.
- 2 years of experience implementing technology solutions in a healthcare provider environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Mastery of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong financial and business acumen for enterprise technology deployments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience managing portfolios in Administration (Finance, HR, Marketing) and Data Governance/AI.
- Background in centralized PMO environments with knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Strong expertise in data and AI project management, including data acquisition, modeling, and validation.
- Experience in hospital/healthcare environments (Preferred).
