R&D Mechanical Engineering Technician

On behalf of our client in the Pharmaceutical and medical device industry. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented R&D Mechanical Engineering Technician to join. In this role, you will collaborate within the dynamic R&D team to support the development of next-generation life science instruments. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates or current graduate students with a mechanical leaning to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced research environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test engineering prototype instruments, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct testing and analysis of components and systems to validate research findings and refine mechanical models.
- Assist in root-cause investigations to identify and resolve issues, contributing to product quality improvement initiatives.
- Procure, track, stock, and kit instrument components to support production and assembly processes.
- Set up and maintain assembly stations, tools, test equipment, and fixtures to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Generate and release engineering documentation, including assembly procedures, installation instructions, and test reports.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or higher, or currently enrolled in an engineering degree program. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of and application of principles and theories of engineering, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- General understanding of instrument assembly and testing processes.
- Excellent communication, technical, and computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- CAD experience, particularly with SolidWorks, is a plus.
