Senior Program Manager, Dept: Global Program Management (Pharmaceuticals)
Location: San Rafael, CA 100% ON-SITE, must be local
Pay Rate: $75-85/ HR
8-month W2 Full-Time Assignment, Potential to extend/ convert to FTE
The Senior Program Manager position at BioMarin Pharmaceutical involves strategically enabling the development of medicines through program management best practices and timely decision-making. This role drives strategy, planning, and execution of assets, working with cross-functional teams to bring transformative therapies to communities.
Role Responsibilities:
-Strategic Planning:
- Partner with Therapeutic Area Team Leads to maintain alignment with program strategy.
- Assist in developing and updating program plans.
- Provide guidance on business operating models and governance
-Operational Execution:
- Manage timelines, budgets, and resources using Microsoft Project.
- Oversee program-level timeline and execution of deliverables.
- Develop execution plans and oversee their implementation.
-Issues, Risk, and Decision Management:
- Develop and manage the Program Risk Register.
- Manage interdependencies, issues, and key decisions.
-Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Foster collaboration and communication across teams.
- Communicate objectives, plans, and timelines.
- Facilitate governance and team meetings.
Education and Experience Required:
- Ph.D., Masters, or BA/BS with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8 years total relevant experience, with at least 5 years in project management.
- PMP certification is a plus.
Competencies Required:
- Agility, Leadership, and Communication skills.
- Proficiency in Project Management tools and techniques.
- Understanding of Product Development Lifecycle and Therapeutic Area knowledge.
