Pay Rate: $33-$36/hr. DOE
Work Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM
Interview Process: 2-3 steps (Video/Teams)
On behalf of our client a private university, we are seeking for a Voice Technician I that will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of voice systems, ensuring the efficiency and security of a multi-platform voice telephony system. This role includes troubleshooting issues reported by users or monitoring systems, performing installations, and executing moves, adds, and changes based on customer requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot voice and voice over IP (VoIP) systems.
- Provide technical support and resolve user-reported issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance of voice equipment.
- Maintain records and manage spare parts inventory for equipment.
- Train users on system operation and provide ongoing support as needed.
- Recommend and implement system configuration improvements.
- Stay updated on new technologies and attend vendor training sessions.
- Perform on-call duties for urgent troubleshooting and system maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to IT processes and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma (associate's degree preferred) and 3+ years of job-specific experience in voice systems installation and maintenance.
- Experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in LAN/WAN technologies including TCP/IP, QoS, PoE, VLANs, and VoIP.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems for troubleshooting purposes.
- Ability to troubleshoot VoIP-related network issues.
- Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends.
