Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote – Occasional On-Site if needed)  
11-month Assignment (potential to extend or convert)
Pay: $60 / HR
 
Our public utilities and energy client is looking for a Workplace Investigator to join their team.  This individual will be responsible for investigating complaints involving alleged violations of laws, regulations, company policies (including those prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace bullying), and the company's Code of Conduct.
 
They will manage a caseload of numerous investigations, working both autonomously and collaboratively with fellow team members, business leaders, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Internal Audit, Corporate Security, and Legal.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Investigations – Perform prompt, thorough, and fair investigations from intake to completion, including conducting investigative interviews of employees and others, and reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing documents and data collected as part of the investigations.
  • Make objective and analytically-sound investigative findings.
  • Provide recommendations and advice about options for corrective action.
  • Draft detailed investigation reports, as well as other documents and correspondence related to the investigations.
  • Prepare executive summaries and provides appropriate investigation updates to management and legal.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with individuals involved in matters being investigated, managers and the HR teams that support those individuals during the investigation and post-investigation processes.
  • Advice, Counseling, and Training – Drive impact by helping the company create and sustain a compliance-oriented culture.
  • Provide advice and consulting for leaders and employees in support of continuous improvement related to issues identified in investigations, as broadly defined.
  • Work with Organizational Effectiveness to develop and deliver compliance education programs and trainings designed proactively to address workplace issues.

 
Education & Qualifications:

  • BA / BS
  • 7+ years of strong investigated experience needed (law firm, HR, audit, ect.)
  • Association of Workplace Investigation Certification
  • JD preferred but not required.
